Psychotherapy involves “talk therapy,” during which you will engage in one-on-one discussions with your therapist, either as an individual, a couple, a family, or within a group setting. This process allows you to gain a fresh perspective on your situation, acquire coping skills, and receive guidance on making positive changes in your life.
The first session will include a detailed intake process to comprehend your current concerns, strengths, and background history. It is crucial to establish an understanding of you as an individual, as well as your role within your family or relational system, to tailor the therapy approach. Based on this information, we will collaboratively set therapy goals that align with your needs. Typically, therapeutic work begins from the second session onwards.
Sessions are available in both 50-minute and 80-minute durations, and the frequency of meetings depends on your specific situation and the treatment plan customized for you. You discuss this with your therapist. We recommend scheduling an initial 80-minute session to gather all the essential information required to create a tailored treatment plan.
Therapeutic outcomes vary for each individual. It is essential to allow the process to unfold organically and in a manner that meets your requirements. Remember that your therapist cannot do the work for you to achieve results; you must be willing to implement the skills and strategies discussed during therapy.

The energy flow is not the practitioner’s energy; instead, it is universal energy that flows through the practitioner’s hands. Reiki energy exists on a higher dimension than the physical world and flows within each one of us. The practitioner is merely a conduit for the healing energy to do its work.
Maintaining an open mind is important to experience the full benefits of this treatment. Reiki healing can lead to deep relaxation and an overall sense of well-being. This treatment encourages individuals to release fears, negative emotions, anxiety, physical ailments, and tension. You will experience a refreshed feeling, along with a more positive and balanced outlook. While you may not experience all the mentioned benefits, you will have an opportunity to relax for a while.
We will begin with a consultation regarding the area of concern, whether it’s physical, emotional, or spiritual pain/discomfort. You will then lie down, fully clothed, on a treatment table with your eyes closed, and relax. Reiki treatment involves the use of various hand positions with gentle touch (with permission) or hands hovering over the body to move energy throughout it. We may incorporate gentle music, essential oils, and/or crystals to enhance relaxation during the treatment. After the treatment, we will have a brief follow-up conversation. We recommend clients to drink water and rest after the session.
Remote sessions can be just as effective as in-person sessions and can be done over the phone or via video chat. We will begin with an initial conversation about your current concerns and complete any necessary paperwork. You will then find a comfortable place to rest, such as a bed, couch, or chair, during the session. I will send Reiki energy to you during this time, and you are free to continue to relax or sleep afterward. Similar to in-person sessions, your post-session experience may vary. Please ensure you have water after this session. We will have a follow-up conversation if you are still awake or schedule one for a later time.
Reiki is not a religion. It has a spiritual aspect and comes from a higher dimension. Clients from diverse backgrounds and beliefs can engage in a session. You are free to maintain your existing beliefs and make your own decisions regarding your spiritual or religious practices.
Yes, it is. Reiki is non-invasive and is practiced with light touch or none. However, while this treatment is safe, it should not be used as a replacement for traditional medical or therapeutic treatments.
Most often, individuals will leave feeling relaxed and uplifted. It is possible that because of the body’s cleansing and healing, an individual may experience headaches or feel fatigued after a session. In such cases, please ensure you drink plenty of water, consume healthy meals, and get adequate rest. These effects can last for a couple of days. You may also notice changes in mood, energy levels, and the release of old emotions. These are positive signs of your healing process.
The number of Reiki sessions you need depends on your individual concerns and needs. Typically, you start noticing an energy shift after just one session. However, because energy is in constant flow and life circumstances change, you may benefit from weekly or monthly sessions. You will know by intuitively assessing your energy levels physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
